The sapphire bi-directional rotating bezel features an illuminated 24-hour graduation and signifies a third time-zone in addition to the standard and GMT time readings. Pilots can use the GMT hand to track the time of their home city and the 24-hour bezel to track the destination city’s time, while the standard hour and minute hands track the aircraft’s local time.
On the aviator-inspired dial, revolutionary micro gas tubes shine at each hour index and on the main hands for easy readability. The 3, 6 and 9 o’clock markings feature double gas tube markings, while the 12 o’clock position is adorned with a pair of ultra-distinctive gas tubes for quick orientation in darkness. The second time-zone GMT hand tops this all off with green gas tubes, in tribute to BALL’s corporate colors.
The AeroGMT II is powered by the BALL RR1201-C self-winding mechanical movement. The COSC certified precision is safeguarded by robust technology, including shock resistance to 7,500Gs and anti-magnetic protection to 4,800 A/m. On the 42mm machined stainless steel case, our patented crown protection system ensures the crown is properly and securely sealed.
Around the wrist, the AeroGMT II comes complete with a metal bracelet fitted with BALL’s patented triple folding buckle – capable of withstanding 1,400 newtons of force. Alternatively, it can be fitted to meet personal tastes with the use of our rubber strap and standard buckle. Both configurations fit comfortably with aviation apparel, while also complementing the bold bezel in giving the pilot excellent usability in form and in function.
With tremendous speed and stealth, the SR-71 rocketed around the world with virtual invisibility. As a fitting counterpart, the AeroGMT Sled Driver shines with ultimate visibility. Designed for darkness, the tool features powerful micro gas lights that illuminate all three time zone readings – without the need for charging. The 24-hour curved rotating bezel, predominantly used to track a destination city, integrates micro gas tubes below its sapphire surface for remarkable shine. In harmony with the gas tubes on the dial and hands, you can easily read time at a glance – whether soaring above the clouds in dimly-lit aircraft or exploring adverse terrain deep into the night.
